Your wedding, Your way; Time to enjoy the big day!

Quietly capturing the genuine emotional moments of your wedding day is the true purpose of documentary wedding photography.

A bride dances at her reception in Brooklyn, surrounded by her friends who celebrate by releasing colored confetti into the air around her.
As the bride prepares for her wedding, her parents come in to spend a few minutes with her. in this photo they flank her on either side, wrapping their arms around her and each kissing her on the side of her head.

The best moments in life are never posed, and neither are the best photos.

No one should spend their wedding day stressed about posing for photos. This is your day - enjoy it!

At an outdoor backyard wedding in Chatham NY, the bride and her father walk across the grass toward the groom and the officiant, with friends and family gathered to the side, smiling as they watch them walk by.

How much does documentary wedding photography cost?

How much time do you have? Wedding photography ranges in price from several hundred dollars for a one hour booking to upwards of 10K, so the better question to start with is, what type of photos do you want? For more on this, check out my “What’s it cost” page. If you love documentary wedding photography and are happy with what you see on my website, why not contact me? When is the best time to get married in NYC?

The real answer to that question is: Whenever you want! As a result of ongoing concerns about Covid, a lot of couples are planning smaller outdoor events, in which case Spring and Fall are definitely the most ideal as far as temperature and overall weather is concerned. But if you love summer or winter, go for it! NYC has many, many gorgeous locations to suit all seasons, so whatever you’re looking for, you can find it here.

As a transplanted New Yorker, I’m always happy to give suggestions and help with location logistics. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have!

How do I know you’re the right photographer for our wedding?

To find the right photographer for your wedding, there are two main areas you should focus on apart from budget: they are the style of photography and the personality of the photographer. You want to find the person whose photos speak to you, and with whom you feel completely comfortable.
