Jordan & Jeff in Albany

Albany City Hall Wedding

Jordan and Jeff’s wedding at Albany City Hall in June was proof that a wedding doesn’t need to be a huge elaborate event in order to be unforgettable. Jordan and I had been emailing for several months prior to the wedding day, and when I walked into the City Hall where Jeff and his parents waited for Jordan’s arrival, the first thing Jeff said to me was, “As soon as she saw your website, Jordan told me ‘This is who we’re hiring as our photographer’. She’s so excited that you’re here.” By the end of the day, I was the one who was giddy with excitement, because I knew the photos were something special.

Some couples radiate an energy towards each other that is simply undeniable. The way they look at each other, their body language and the ease and comfort they feel in each other’s presence is a quality that can’t be faked and always results in amazing, intimate, joyous photos.

City Hall Wedding are spare but all the more intimate because of it. There really is only the couple and their witnesses and/or immediate family, and so that is the one and only focus. Except in Jordan and Jeff’s case, they upped the ante by arranging for a ramble through the State Capitol Building on a Friday afternoon when it is all but deserted. As the two of them frolicked (there really is no other word to accurately describe it) up and down the massive staircases in this building that is one part office building and 3 parts gothic castle, I simple followed in their wake, counting myself incredible fortunate to be there to capture it all.
